These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the SHUIN Kanji Name Reading Service (the “Service”). Please read them carefully before using the Service.
Section 1: Service Overview
The Service selects kanji characters that reflect the meaning and origin of your name, and delivers them to you as a piece of art.
Section 2: Our Process
Kanji candidates are researched using various resources, including AI tools, but the final selection is reviewed and decided by a native Japanese speaker.
Section 3: How It Works
Step 1: We ask for your name (free, before payment). Step 2: We confirm the spelling with you (free, before payment). Step 3: After payment, we select the kanji. Step 4: We deliver a high-resolution kanji artwork along with a certificate PDF describing its meaning and origin.
Section 4: Deliverables
You will receive a high-resolution kanji artwork image and a certificate-style PDF describing the meaning and origin of the kanji.
Section 5: Payment
Payment is collected via Stripe after your name and spelling have been confirmed.
Section 6: Cancellations and Refunds
You may cancel free of charge at any time before payment (before spelling confirmation). Once payment is made, production begins and refunds are generally not available; however, we will review any issues with the delivered work on a case-by-case basis.
Section 7: Copyright
Copyright in the delivered artwork belongs to SHUIN Studio, but you are free to use it for personal purposes. Please contact us separately if you wish to use it commercially.
